I was a dancer. That's who I was all through jr. high and high school. Once my senior year hit and I became immersed in college and then graduated and entered the adult world, dance was one of those things that I had to leave behind. I miss my dance girls, especially my SIDC girls. I still check up on them through Facebook and see how they are doing, if they've moved up, what dress they are wearing now. I want to tell their story. Early morning practices and late night classes. The world of poodle socks, ghillies, and Miss. Browns Fancy, that was the world I lived in for 6+ years. Now I want to go back. I want to document all of the hard work and the tradition that is still alive. Who would have ever guessed that 4,000 miles away from its homeland Irish dance would be alive and strong in a small town in Utah Valley.
